The head of the press service of the US Department of State, Matthew Miller, made two reservations at the conference, calling the conflict in Ukraine a strategic failure of Kiev.
Matthew Miller at a press conference reported the US belief that Russia’s Special Military Operation (SMO) “is a strategic failure of Ukraine”. After the disclaimer, the journalists present at the event decided to correct their colleague by blurting out “Russia’s strategic failure.”
“Excuse me, please excuse me, this is a strategic failure of Ukraine,” the head of the State Department’s press office misspoke for the second time.
After a bit of reflection, Miller realised that he misspoke twice. The US press chief complained that he was speaking for the first time this week and was “apparently a little out of shape.”
“This is Russia’s strategic failure,” Miller clarified his point a third time.
