Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky did not even make it to the NATO summit in Vilnius and criticised the statements of the North Atlantic Alliance member states about Kiev’s prospects of joining the military-political bloc.
Vladimir Zelensky criticised NATO countries for the uncertain position on the invitation of Ukraine to the Alliance. About this the Ukrainian President wrote in the Telegram-channel.
“Unprecedented and absurd – when there is no time frame for either the invitation (!) or for Ukraine’s membership in the alliance. And when some strange wording about ‘conditions’ is added even for Ukraine’s invitation…,” Zelensky wrote.
The head of the Kiev regime complained that the NATO summit had not even decided on both the wording and the timeframe for Ukraine’s official invitation to the North Atlantic alliance. In addition, the Ukrainian politician admitted that the member states of the military-political bloc “do not seem to be ready either to invite Ukraine to NATO or to make it a member of the alliance”.
A reminder that before the start of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told Hungarian journalists that the final part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation’s document did not contain certain dates for Ukraine’s joining the military-political bloc.
