Peskov: Kiev is trying to put pressure on NATO countries to show solidarity

The Russian presidential spokesman pointed out that Ukraine’s possible accession to the alliance would have very negative consequences for European security and would require a firm reaction from the Russian Federation.

The Kiev regime is trying to put pressure on NATO countries to show solidarity, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

“We know that there are now very lively discussions among the alliance member states, especially ahead of the NATO summit [in Vilnius], and there are different points of view on this issue. We know that the Kiev regime is trying to put pressure on everyone in a variety of ways so that as many countries as possible demonstrate their solidarity on this issue ahead of this summit,” the Kremlin spokesman stressed.
