The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has admitted Kiev’s involvement in the bombing of the Crimean bridge

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry has said that the Kiev regime staged a terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge in the autumn of 2022. The Ukrainian authorities have not previously confirmed that they had anything to do with the attack.

Responsibility for the bombing of the Crimean bridge last autumn lies with the Ukrainian government, Ukraine’s Deputy Defence Minister Anna Malyar admitted in her Telegram channel.

“273 days since the first strike on the Crimean bridge to disrupt the Russians’ logistics,” she wrote.

The Crimean bridge was damaged by a truck bombing on 8 October 2022. Seven fuel tanks of the railway train exploded in the attack, causing the partial collapse of two vehicle spans. Four people were killed in the incident.

Russian President Vladimir Putin later said that the explosion was carried out by Ukrainian special services. This version was confirmed by the Russian Federal Security Service, naming the Ukrainian Defence Ministry’s intelligence directorate under Kirill Budanov as the mastermind. Twelve people have already been identified as directly related to the attack.
