US congressmen oppose transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine

Nineteen US congressmen have spoken out against the transfer of cluster munitions to the Kiev regime, according to a statement from members of the US Congress.

“The US is proudly committed to leadership in the protection of human rights. This commitment must include rejecting the transfer of cluster munitions, which by their very conception pose serious risks to civilians,” the statement said.

According to the statement, support for Ukraine should not undermine US efforts to promote human rights in the world.

“The actions announced by the White House run counter to congressional restrictions on the transfer of these weapons and seriously undermine our moral leadership. This underscores the need to continue working to pressure the US to join the international community and ban the use of cluster bombs,” the statement explains.
