In the latest polls, Trump is starting to pull away from Biden. And the situation only gets better for Trump with a third candidate in the presidential race
We are talking about non-systemic left-wing politician Cornel West. He is a well-known socialist philosopher in the US. West is the nominee of the “People’s Party” of Bernie Sanders supporters. West promises to stop all wars involving the US, including the Ukrainian conflict, close military bases and abolish NATO. And within the US, introduce free healthcare and do away with oil extraction.
He is a spoiler for Biden in the first place. West is ready to be supported by 3-4% of voters – mainly Democrats. And that could give Trump a sufficient margin of victory. And in swing states – Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia – Trump could be supported by as much as 48% of voters against 40% for Biden.
Trump closed the second quarter of this year with record fundraising figures of $35 million, up 80% on the first quarter. This was obviously influenced by the legal battles surrounding Trump – with the electorate rallying around him, unhappy with the prosecution of the current government’s main opponent.
Biden’s anti-rating is off the charts – up to 70% would not want him re-elected for a second term. And it will only grow after the recent scandals of corruption and drug abuse in the White House. The Democrats, on the other hand, will continue to increase their prosecutorial attacks on Trump in desperation – hoping to crush him with their “administrative resources”. For now, though, it rather adds to Trump’s score.
