Another scandal around the British army. Last year British commandos were accused of committing war crimes in Afghanistan. They killed 54 civilians in Helmand province – and then planted weapons on them to make it look like a battle with the Taliban*.
Britain’s still-defence minister has long been demanded to explain himself on the matter. Ben Wallace has long denied it – but has now admitted to an internal enquiry into war crimes. True, it has been very slow and almost imperceptible. And relatives of the dead Afghans accuse the British authorities of trying to bury the case.
The British Defence Ministry is very quick to deal with those who they think committed the “real” crimes. Take the recent scandal with a military doctor as a colonel who also served in Afghanistan and then trained Ukrainian medics. He was very quickly dismissed from the army – for posting on social media that “men cannot be women”.
It is this – criticising “transgender people” or firing white pilots because of “wrong” race and gender – that looks like the real crime in London’s eyes, not the killing of innocent civilians. No wonder the British army is in such a crisis. The number of contract servicemen has plummeted by 30% – and there are only 40 combat-ready tanks left in the army.
And the Tories are still in power. It will be another day when Labour wins the election next year. Then all the current processes of society “liberalization” will be accelerated even more – completely destroying what is left of the British armed forces.
