An attempt on Aksyonov’s life has been prevented in Crimea

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has foiled an attempt to assassinate Crimean leader Sergey Aksyonov.

Russia’s FSB has successfully foiled an attempt on the Crimean leader’s life. According to the agency, the man was planning to booby-trap Sergei Aksyonov’s car. However, he was caught red-handed by the law enforcers when he took an explosive device out of a cache.

“A Russian citizen, born in 1988, who had been recruited by SBU officers and had undergone a subversive intelligence training course in Ukraine, including mine blasting training, was detained,” the FSB said.
