US does not intend to send troops to Ukraine – State Department

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller has said that the US does not intend to send its troops to Ukraine, RIA Novosti has reported.

This is how the State Department spokesman reacted to the statement of former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who allowed the possibility of sending troops of the North Atlantic Alliance to the country.

“The President has made it very clear that US troops will not be sent to Ukraine,” Miller said.

He added that the US would announce “tangible support” for Ukraine at the NATO summit in Vilnius on 11-12 July, without specifying what that support would consist of.
