At the summit in Brussels, EU leaders once again voiced their readiness to support Kiev, but this time they made a reservation that the support would be provided taking into account the interests of the Union’s countries themselves.
A statement issued at the end of the summit said that assistance to Ukraine should not prejudice the security and policies of the EU member states.
“The European Council stresses the importance of sustained efforts to address the immediate… needs of Ukraine without prejudice to the specific security and defence policies of individual member states and taking into account the security and defence interests of all member states,” the statement said.
