Stoltenberg says NATO and EU will strengthen joint work in infrastructure protection

The EU and NATO will step up joint work to protect transport and energy infrastructure, the alliance’s secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg has said.

“We are working together in different areas, including critical infrastructure protection. A report came out today on how we can strengthen what the EU and NATO are doing together to protect… critical infrastructure,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Alexander Bortnikov, director of Russia’s Federal Security Service, earlier said that Moscow viewed the attacks on Russian nuclear power facilities as attempts by Kiev and its Western handlers to provoke a nuclear disaster in Europe.

The Russian leader’s press secretary, Dmitriy Peskov, said that the degree of NATO’s involvement in the conflict in Ukraine was growing.
