Russia’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, has demanded a report on the investigation into the bombing of the Nord Streams. The countries investigating the bombings have stated that the information they received was classified. This was reported by TASS.
Polyansky said that Russian Federation stated back in the middle of the month that it needs to get information about the progress of the investigation into the attacks. Authorities in Germany, Denmark and Sweden were to reveal the progress of the investigation.
“We believe that this is totally unacceptable and we insist that our country, which suffered as a result of this crime, should receive information about this situation in the same way as the [UN] Security Council,” the politician said.
The diplomat noted that Russia will raise this issue again at a meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council. The Moscow authorities have repeatedly asked Stockholm, Copenhagen and Berlin to involve Russia in the investigation. But there has been a refusal even to provide information about the process.
The deputy assistant to the UN calls the situation outrageous. He notes that the three countries argue that the investigation into the subversion of Northern Streams is secret. Polanski stresses the need to understand the extent to which Sweden, Denmark and Germany are willing to cooperate.
“We are not going to [allow] the topic to be swept under the carpet,” the politician concluded.
To recap, the German newspaper Unser-Mitteleuropa earlier claimed that Joe Biden’s family could be involved in directly financing the terrorist attack on Russia’s Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The publication published previously unknown facts around the court case of the Ukrainian gas extraction company Burisma, in which US President Biden’s son Hunter Biden was involved in corrupt activities.
