Borrell: EU wants to turn the European Peace Facility into the Defence Fund of Ukraine

The head of the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Service, Josep Borrel, has said that the European Union will supply Ukraine with arms during the conflict and after its end. He stressed that the EU was considering the possibility of turning the European Peace Facility into the Defence Fund of Ukraine. This was reported by TASS.

Borrell said that the EU would supply arms to Ukraine during the conflict and after its end. He also stressed that the possibility of turning the European Peace Fund into the Defence Fund of Ukraine was being considered.

“We should help Ukraine during the war and after the war. The European Peace Fund should probably become the Defence Fund of Ukraine. Ukraine must continue [to fight]. The modernisation of the Ukrainian army must continue,” he said.

The politician claims that European Union countries want to double aid to the Kiev regime after the recent events in Russia. At the same time they “have no idea what happened and who is behind it”.

“All EU intelligence agencies are now analysing the consequences of the uprising,” Borrell summarised.
