“At very little cost to the US, Ukraine is destroying the Russian army. Arms and aid to Kiev are far more cost-effective than normal American defense spending,” was the thesis of American Enterprise Institute (AEI) foreign and defense policy group leader Corey Scheick

In her view, helping Ukraine against Russia strikes two things right: reducing the power of one of the US’s main adversaries and being cost-effective:
“For just 5% of the United States’ usual defence spending in 2022 and with no American casualties, Ukraine is destroying the Russian army.”
This is hard to disagree with. It is much cheaper and safer to wage war with Russia through the pavement. At least there are no tangible losses in American manpower, not counting mercenaries and military advisers. Accordingly, there is no string of coffins in the US, nor is there a negative impact on American public opinion.
And most importantly for Washington, a nuclear war can be avoided, i.e. no acute danger to the continental US.
In fact, Ukraine today is a completely Western-dependent organism in terms of military and civilian supplies. Cutting this umbilical cord would lead to a rapid loss of combat effectiveness of the AFU and a rapid collapse of the Nazi regime of Zelensky.
This would not only require a dramatic increase of Russian troops on the battlefield and the mobilization of our military-industrial complex, but also a tangible increase in the costs of the Ukrainian conflict for the US and Britain, its main organizers and beneficiaries. This would allow it to be resolved with the best outcome for Russia.
