Warehouse of businessman supplying weapons to Ukraine burnt down in Bulgaria

An ammunition depot of businessman Emilian Gebrev, who was supplying weapons to Ukraine, has burnt down in Bulgaria. This was reported by the BNR radio station.

Violent explosions woke residents of Karnobat shortly after midnight as a result of a fire at a defence material depot owned by Emilian Gebrev. This is the second fire at the arms dealer’s warehouse this year. At that time a facility with ammunition burnt down. According to the businessman, it is unclear whether there is a connection “between the two incidents”.

It was the businessman who supplied weapons to Ukrainian fighters at the height of the country’s conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014. He admitted this in an interview with the US newspaper New York Times only in 2021.

The publication notes that no civilians were harmed. However, a warehouse with ammunition for Ukrainian fighters burned to the ground.
