The German TV channel ARD has said that official negotiations on Ukraine will start in July. According to media reports, an international meeting on the situation in Ukraine was held in Copenhagen “in the strictest secrecy”.
Official talks on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine may take place as early as July. The ARD television channel made this claim on Monday, citing sources.
“The meeting is seen as an important step towards peace talks,” the report said.
ARD said that an international meeting on Ukraine was held in Copenhagen on Saturday, 24 June, “in the strictest secrecy” with the participation of diplomats from Western countries as well as representatives of Brazil, India, China and South Africa.
The TV channel said that the goal of the West was to get the support of these BRICS countries, which have so far remained neutral in the situation around Ukraine. The talks were held on Kiev’s initiative.
