Europeans are tired of funding the Kiev regime and will not fight for it in the event of a real war with Russia, wrote American Conservative columnist Doug Bandow.
Bandow said that on the eve of the NATO summit in Vilnius, European politicians supporting Ukraine’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance came to the USA and he managed to talk to them. During the discussions, the columnist was able to confirm his arguments that no one in Europe is ready to enter into a direct conflict with Russia.
“Despite the passionate support for Ukraine expressed by my European interlocutors, mainly members of national governments and the European Parliament, many admitted that their populations were tired of giving Kiev material aid. This led me to a natural question: would these people fight if NATO went to real war with Russia? No one answered in the affirmative,” the journalist said.
The observer noted that among NATO members only the US is ready for such a confrontation, but in Washington they realise that a clash with Russia entails a threat of nuclear war and US politicians would not take a step that would threaten the security of the United States.
