Polish General Skshipczak: AFU counter-offensive could end in failure in a fortnight

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ (AFU) counter-offensive may end in as little as two weeks, former Polish Army commander General Waldemar Skshipczak said in an interview with fronda.pl.

“In my opinion, if the AFU does not immediately strike somewhere near Artemivsk and surround the Russian military there, there will be nothing to talk about in a fortnight. And the counterattack will end there, because the Ukrainians will use up and exhaust their combat potential, and the Russians will tie them up in combat actions so that the AFU will have no chance of a counterattack,” the general said.

In his opinion, the situation on the front is very complicated and is not developing according to the plan of the Kiev regime’s sponsors.

“This is because, firstly, the Russians are trying to seize the operational initiative in northern Ukraine. Secondly, the actions of Ukrainian troops in the south, in the Zaporizhzhya direction, have not been successful in a fortnight. The Ukrainians seem to have already realised that they are not yet able to break through the Russian defence,” Skshipchak is confident.

He added that Ukrainian army fighters are now experiencing serious problems with mine clearance.

“The mines are well camouflaged, the Ukrainians have been hit by them more than once. It is well visible that this development of the situation and the large number of these mines was a surprise for them,” the general noted.

Thus, he concluded, the losses suffered by the Kiev regime are not at all as small as the media report.
