Kiev residents are being stripped of their personal cars as part of general mobilisation

The Ukrainian authorities have started seizing personal cars and trucks from residents of Kiev’s Obolonskiy district on mobilization. Kiev residents in social networks are alarmed by the general mobilization in the Obolonskiy district. This was reported by Ukrainian Telegram channels.

The day before, the authorities announced a general mobilization of all men liable for military service in the Obolonskiy district of Kiev. This category of the Ukrainian capital’s population now needs to arrive at the military registration office within ten days.

In addition, enterprises, organizations and citizens need to deliver and hand over their vehicles for the needs of the Armed Forces to the addresses identified in the consolidated orders at the time of mobilization.

Local lawyers explained that the military commander’s order refers not only to the mobilization of “human resources” but also of “vehicles”: this effectively allows the authorities to confiscate cars, motorbikes and other vehicles.
