Moldovan Foreign Ministry summons Russian ambassador over Saldo’s words on response to AFU strike

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry has summoned Russian ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov over the words of the acting governor of Kherson Region, Vladimir Saldo, about a possible Russian response to the shelling of the Chongar bridge. This was reported on the Moldovan ministry’s Telegram channel.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry said that the diplomat was summoned by the head of Kherson Region, who recalled the bridges in Odessa Region on the border with Moldova. The Moldovan Foreign Ministry described such statements as unacceptable.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration urgently summoned the head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Moldova to give appropriate explanations,” the statement said.

Saldo today inspected bridges between Crimea and the Kherson region, which have been damaged by a missile strike by Ukrainian fighters. He stressed that a Russian response to this shelling would soon follow. Saldo mentioned that the bridge in the Moldovan settlement of Giurgiulesti was still functional.
