The EU can cover 45% of Ukraine’s total reconstruction funding needs by 2027.
This was announced by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
She noted that by 2027, the Ukrainian fiscal deficit would be about €60bn, and the need for a rapid recovery would be about €50bn.
“That is why yesterday I proposed to EU members to cover 45% of this deficit. This amounts to about €50bn for Ukraine,” Interfax quoted her as saying.
Earlier, Swedish Energy Minister Ebba Busch said that Ukraine had asked the EU to double its electricity supplies to it.
