Polish President Andrzej Duda has banned former members of the security services of the Polish People’s Republic (PPR, which existed from 1945-1989) from public service. This was reported by the Polish leader’s office.
The Polish president has signed amendments to the Law on Public Service. It is noted that the novelisation introduces, among other things, a ban on employment in the civil service and state institutions by officers and members of the NDP security organs.
The presidential office specified that the regulation “introduces a ban on employment of persons who worked or served in the state security bodies in 1944-1990 or were employees of these bodies, and terminates employment relations with these persons.
