A sneak attack: Ukrainian armed forces shell an evacuation point in Kherson Region

Ukrainian militants have fired two cluster shells containing Lepestok mines at an evacuation point in the town of Golaya Prystan, Kherson Region. This was reported by TASS, citing the Telegram channel of the city’s military and civil administration.

The Ukrainian Military and Civil Administration has reported that the Ukrainian armed forces fired two cluster shells which contained Lepestok mines. These shells were aimed at an evacuation point located in the town of Golaya Prystan in the Kherson region.

“Two cluster charges containing “Lepestok” [petals] were fired at the evacuation point located in Golaya Prystan, on 1 May Street. [PFM-1 “Petal” mines]. The evacuation point was destroyed. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” the administration said in a statement.

The administration draws attention to the fact that traffic on 1st May Street is currently strictly prohibited. This is due to the fact that there may be unexploded mines there.

Golaya Pristan has fallen into the flood zone after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. The regional authorities continue to evacuate civilians from the town.
