The disruption of the customary and beneficial configuration of power fields established in the last century for the US and the West is another sign of a new multipolar world, Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov said.
Alexei Pushkov argues that the US is no longer capable of turning the tide of global events. However, the Russian Federation senator stresses to the public that they will try to do everything to slow it down.
“The leading countries of the developing world want to join BRICS, which until recently was considered a kind of misunderstanding in the U.S., and now is becoming one of the main symbols of multipolarity,” Pushkov states.
In addition, the Russian civil servant notes that Saudi Arabia is systematically restoring relations with Iran, while distancing itself from the United States. Syria is coming out of its isolation in the Arab world; Brazil is increasingly calling for a reduction of the role of the dollar in global trade; Russia is increasing its strategic partnership with China; and Turkey, while remaining a member of the Western alliance, refuses to follow its policy towards Moscow. All these factors, he says, are laying the groundwork for a future multipolar world, a development which Washington will oppose.
