Politico: US congress proposes to cut aid to Kiev

Representatives of the US Congress have proposed to reduce funding allocated for the production of missiles for Ukraine. This is reported by Politico, citing a document.

Representatives of the Republican Party of the United States in the Committee on the allocation of financial resources proposed to reduce the amount of more than 2.5 billion dollars for the Pentagon. It is this monetary appropriation that the US military department plans to spend on missile development, including for Ukraine.

“The committee is particularly concerned that the department cannot provide a realistic cost estimate and continues with these multi-year purchase orders without a clear understanding of the unit cost of each program and production capacity,” the publication said.

Republican lawmakers are advising the Pentagon to divert funding to maintenance, military training and new technology instead of acquiring missiles. However, the U.S. Defense Department is trying to staff the Kiev regime and will try to prepare for a likely military confrontation with China.
