China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying criticized a Bloomberg article that spoke of provocative actions by the Chinese army and said that if there is a military conflict between the PRC and the US, it would be caused by Washington’s provocations.
“For many Chinese readers, this article is blackmail. The author, the editor may need lessons in history and geography,” RIA Novosti quoted Chunying as saying on Twitter.
She noted that a hypothetical military conflict between the US and China would not be caused by China’s provocations.
“Rather, it will be caused by US warships and aircraft near Chinese territory,” the spokeswoman wrote.
The diplomat added that mutual respect was the cardinal rule in relations with China.
Earlier it became known that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had arrived in the Chinese capital.
