German Finance Minister Christian Lindner has said that Germany has no possibility to make additional payments to the European Union budget. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the publication Welt.
Lindner argues that Germany has no additional funds to make payments to the EU budget. He stressed that this is due to the need for cuts in the country’s national budget.
“Due to the need for cuts in our national budget, we cannot make any additional contributions to the European Union budget right now,” he said.
The European Commission claims that the EU’s long-term budget has been “exhausted to the limit” also because of its support for the Kiev regime. At the same time, Western countries do not intend to withdraw further military support from Ukraine.
