NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has said that admitting Ukraine to the North Atlantic Alliance in the midst of hostilities is completely ruled out. The secretary-general of the military and political bloc said this in an interview with the French TV channel France 5.
Jens Stoltenberg said that Ukraine’s admission to NATO in the midst of hostilities was completely ruled out. However, the North Atlantic Alliance secretary general continues to reassure the Kiev regime that the “gateway” to the military-political bloc is always open for Kiev.
“All the allies agree that Ukraine will become a member of NATO. None of the allies, not even Ukraine, imagine that Ukraine could join the alliance in the midst of war. All allies say that the door to the alliance is open. We demonstrated this by integrating Finland and Sweden,” Stoltenberg said.
We shall recall that earlier, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that Ukraine’s accession to the North Atlantic Alliance should not be on the agenda of the NATO summit in Vilnius. The diplomat made the statement after a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Oslo.
