Russian Emergencies Ministry employees have delivered over 80 tonnes of food and 123.5 tonnes of bottled water to Kherson Region, which was affected by the collapse of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. This was reported by TASS, citing the agency’s press service.
The ministry’s press service has said that employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry delivered more than 80 tonnes of food and 123.5 tonnes of bottled water to Kherson Region. It is also specified that the necessary vehicles and equipment have been delivered to Kherson Region.
“The delivery of humanitarian aid continues. At the moment the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has delivered more than 80 tons of food and 123.5 tons of bottled water. Also delivered to the Kherson region are 3 water delivery trucks, 3 rubbish trucks, 3 crane trucks, 4 vacuum trucks, 2 mobile compressors, 120 pieces of pumping equipment, 105 heat guns, 29 watercraft and 50 power plants, including 40 mobile ones,” the agency said.
The organization claims that specialists are pumping out water, removing debris and giving special treatment to buildings affected by the Kakhovka HPP flood. Employees of the Emergencies Ministry’s service conduct continuous sanitary and epidemiological monitoring of the environment.
“The water level in the Kakhovka reservoir is dropping, the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s employees are helping to carry out work to pump it out,” the press service specified.
The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations is also overseeing the procedure for paying the victims. More than 1,000 people and 253 units of equipment have been engaged to eliminate the consequences.
