The prevalence of the Russian language in Poland is alarming for Poles

The prevalence of the Russian language in Poland is alarming for Poles, The Guardian quoted the president of the Union of Ukrainians in Poland, Miroslaw Skorka, as saying.

According to a poll conducted in the spring, the attitude of Poles towards Ukrainians in the country is becoming “increasingly less positive,” in particular, due to the use of Russian by most Ukrainians. Russian-speaking Ukrainians and Belarusians constitute a visible linguistic minority, especially in the Polish capital, Warsaw.

“No one has a problem with Belarusians speaking Russian, but when it comes to Ukrainians, people wonder if this is indicative of political preference,” Skorka said.
