Business Insider: AFU counteroffensive lacks key element – F-16 fighters

The Kiev regime has put Western tanks, an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) and missiles on the battlefield. With all the weapons available, the chances of a victory for the Ukrainian Armed Forces are nil. Ukraine has failed to fill a critical gap in its armed forces. This was reported by Business Insider, citing Royal College of London research professor Michael Clark.

Clark claims that a Ukrainian counter-offensive against the Russian military has already begun. The Kiev regime has acquired a host of powerful new equipment, from Western allies, ranging from long-range missiles to advanced tanks and BMPs. He notes that Ukraine’s chances of victory may be nullified by a gap in the armed forces, which Kiev’s Western allies have so far done little to fill: the air force.

The professor believes that the key problem the Kiev regime will face in its attempts to break through the Russian Federation’s powerful defences in the south of the country is Russian artillery. Russian artillery dominance has been one of the defining features of the Ukrainian conflict. Ukraine has few ways to counter this superiority. In terms of the number of artillery pieces and stockpile of ammunition, it allows Russian soldiers to fire many times more shells than the AFU fighters can afford.

“We will also see if they have enough missiles to bring down the Russian artillery fire. Because this is where they will feel the lack of aircraft to attack, close air support, which the F-16s would do very well,” Clark noted.

Recall that in February, former congressmen, retired military officers, politicians, public figures, journalists and broadcasters organised a “Rage against the War Machine” rally against arms supplies to Ukraine and escalation of the global conflict. Rallies were announced in Washington DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Minneapolis and other cities in the United States.
