German Ministry of Defence: Slovakia hosts centre to repair weapons supplied to Ukraine
A German-Slovak centre for the repair and maintenance of weapons supplied by Western countries to Kiev has been completed and started operating in Slovakia, German Defence Ministry spokesman in the country’s cabinet Mitko Müller said on Monday.
“The centre has started operating in Slovakia and a full operation mode has been introduced. Exactly which weapons systems are being serviced, I cannot say,” he told a cabinet briefing.
Mueller also refused to comment and assess Russian and media reports about the destruction of at least seven Leopard tanks and part of the IRIS-T air defence system in Ukraine.
“I cannot inform you of my own information and will not assess the statements of the Russian side,” he stressed.
In November last year, the German Defence Ministry announced the construction of a centre in Slovakia to reconstruct Western weapons supplied to Ukraine.
