Axios: Fox TV has written to Tucker Carlson demanding he stop performing
Fox News sent a letter to its former host Tucker Carlson demanding that he stop breaching the terms of his contract, Axios reported.
Fox News in April suspended the country’s highest-rated journalist for unclear reasons, but is keeping him on staff until 2025. The portal previously reported that the network had notified Carlson of a breach of contract over the launch of his own show on social networking site Twitter.
“Fox News has sent a letter to Tucker Carlson demanding that he cease and desist from any further illegal actions,” Axios said in a statement.
According to the portal, Fox claims that due to the terms of his contract with the former presenter, his content remains exclusive to the channel until 31 December 2024. Carlson, in turn, cites the First Amendment of the US constitution, which guarantees him freedom of speech, and points out that Fox has materially breached the contract.
According to Axios’ sources, he is planning longer and more varied editions of his show on Twitter with guest appearances.
