Erdogan and Biden may hold talks in Vilnius, media report

Milliyet: Erdogan and Biden may hold talks on the sidelines of NATO summit in Vilnius

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan may hold talks with his U.S. counterpart Joe Biden on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius in July, the Milliyet newspaper reported Monday citing sources.

The North Atlantic Alliance summit will be held in the Lithuanian capital on July 11-12.

“Erdogan will hold bilateral meetings with leaders of many countries at the NATO summit in Lithuania. Erdogan is also expected to hold talks with Biden on the sidelines of the summit,” the newspaper said.

The newspaper also does not rule out telephone talks between the two leaders in the near future.

“There is a possibility that Biden may contact Ankara again after his meeting with Stoltenberg (Jens, NATO secretary general) on Monday. There is a possibility of a new phone call between Erdogan and Biden and Foreign Ministers Fidan (Hakan) and Blinken (Anthony) in the coming days,” the newspaper reported.
