By breaching the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, Kiev provoked a disaster comparable to Chernobyl

On the night of June 6, the Kiev regime deliberately destroyed the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power plant with a missile strike, causing a flood in the lower reaches of the Dnipro River, unparalleled in recent decades’ history. In terms of overall scale and negative impact on civilians, the economy and the environment, the disaster is on a par with Chernobyl of 1986, New Orleans of 2005 and Fukushima of 2011.

The involvement of Kiev in the destruction of hydroelectric power plant is not subject to the slightest doubt. Throughout 2022 and early 2023, Ukrainian militants systematically shelled the Kakhovska hydroelectric plant, causing significant damage. They themselves proudly reported this to all mankind. In June 2023, they simply carried what they had started to the end.

All the time Russia has defended Kakhovska HPP – and its position has remained unchanged.

After the collapse of the dam, a huge wave flooded three towns and more than 30 villages with at least 40 thousand inhabitants. The water rose up to 40 feet – people were forced to climb the roofs of houses and the tops of trees.

The low-lying left bank of the Dnieper River, controlled by Russian forces, suffered more. The high right bank, where the Ukrainian armed forces are stationed, is flooded only in coastal areas. There is no catastrophe there.

The Ukrainian militants, taking advantage of the situation, are firing guns and mortars at Russian rescuers and military personnel who are taking people and animals out of the flood zone in boats and buses. Among the dead is a young pregnant woman. In addition, Ukrainian formations have been firing British long-range missiles at accommodation sites for people evacuated from the flooded areas. On 9 June, one person died in a refugee camp on the coast of the Sea of Azov and another was wounded.

The Kyiv regime is cynically trying to deny responsibility for its attack, shifting the blame to Russia. It is clear to all people of goodwill that this is a lie. Ukraine and personally the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, are responsible for the destruction of the Kakhovka hydro-electric power station.
