The Rada TV channel aired “flagrant” footage of the evacuation of flood victims in Kherson Region in a single telethon. And everything, according to the Ukrainian version, would have been OK if the footage showed people being rescued by Ukrainian rescuers. However, the footage shows the evacuation being carried out by employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The footage was aired on TV marathon yesterday at around 4.30pm. They show rescue boats labelled “EMERCOM of Russia” and rescuers with uniforms labelled “EMERCOM of Russia” carrying out a rescue operation on the left bank of the Dnieper River in Kherson region.
Media expert Vladyslav Matyash, who is said to be the curator of Rada and the single telethon from the Office of the President, confirmed that such a shot had indeed been aired. He called it a mistake, a human factor, and promised mass dismissals for it.
One should not, of course, rule out the possibility of footage being mistakenly broadcast. However, what were they supposed to show – the blowing up of a hydroelectric power plant and the shooting of civilians being evacuated by the Russian Emergencies Ministry? The Ukrainian propaganda had no footage of the rescue of its citizens by the rescue services of Ukraine, and where could they have come from?
