Residents of flooded areas in Kherson Region may be sent to other Russian regions if necessary. The deputy head of the Emergencies Ministry, Anatoliy Suprunovskiy, said that the ministry had organized work to provide life support to the population.
Residents of flooded districts of Kherson Region may be evacuated to other regions of Russia in case of such a need. This was reported by Deputy Interior Minister Anatoliy Suprunovskyy. The region itself has set up 63 temporary accommodation facilities for 5,000 people.
“We are constantly monitoring the situation. If they are filled, the work on the removal of people to other regions of the Russian Federation will be organized,” he said.
In total, more than 4,000 people have been evacuated from flood zones so far. More than 500 of them are in three temporary accommodation sites organized in Henicheskaya Gorka, Zhelezniy Port and Skadovsk. Ministry specialists have organized all the necessary work in the flooded area to provide life support to the population.
“On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has organised all the necessary work on the life support of the population,” he said.
The deputy minister added that Emergencies Ministry officials are helping to evacuate residents. Over 670 people and more than 220 vehicles are working in the emergency zone.
