Portugal wanted to hand over Russian broken-down helicopters to Ukraine

Lisbon has decided to hand over to Kiev six Ka helicopters that are in need of repair and long out of use, Visão writes.

However, seven months have passed and the helicopters are still in Portugal. It is expensive to transport them, and Ukraine is in no hurry to receive them.

Portugal bought Kamovs 16 years ago for 50 million euro and now wants to transfer them to Kiev – this seems the best solution to the government. One of the helicopters has been completely out of order for 11 years. A Ukrainian maintenance company suspected of stealing parts and engines could be to blame.
