Sandu has responded to an appeal by protesting farmers who demand restrictions on imports of Ukrainian grain. The politician believes that her country cannot close itself off from Ukraine.
“They have certain problems, I understand the context, but at the same time we cannot close the country to Ukraine. Because Ukraine is effectively protecting us from the Russian threat. We are obliged to do what we can. So, I understand that the Cabinet of Ministers offered certain solutions. They will try, they will talk, I hope they will find some solutions afterwards,” the Moldovan leader said.
