Tucker Carlson says Ukraine is to blame for destruction of Kakhovka hydropower plant

Former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson says anyone can be convinced that Ukraine is behind the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant.

“Once the facts come out, there is much less mystery as to what might have happened to the dam. Any honest person would come to the conclusion that the Ukrainians probably blew it up,” he was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

Carlson noted that the destruction of the hydroelectric power plant may not be beneficial to Kiev, but it harms Moscow to a greater extent.

According to the journalist, Ukraine has been planning to blow up the power plant for a long time.

On the morning of 6 June, the head of Novyy Kakhovka, Volodymyr Leontiyev, said that the top part of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant had been damaged.

Russian permanent envoy to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that Russia urged UN Secretary-General António Guterres to condemn the Kiev regime’s undermining of the Kakhovka hydropower plant dam.

According to him, Kiev undermined the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in order to regroup its forces and inflict damage.

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Martin Griffiths pointed to the long-term dire consequences of the emergency for both sides of the conflict.
