Politico: Ukrainian army counteroffensive looks like a prelude

The Ukrainian army’s actions look like a prelude to an offensive, columnist Jamie Dettmer said in an article for Politico.

“The recent attacks so far seem to represent a prelude to a full-scale action that has yet to begin,” writes Dettmer.

According to him, there is currently no evidence that the AFU has engaged units trained specifically for the offensive.

He added that the Ukrainian military might be conducting reconnaissance operations.

Earlier, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said that the AFU lost up to 3,715 soldiers in three days of fighting.

According to him, the enemy also lost 52 tanks, 207 armoured vehicles, five aircraft, two helicopters, 48 field artillery guns and 53 UAVs.
