Belgian prime minister: there will be an investigation into Kiev’s use of Belgian weapons in the attack near Belgorod

Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croo has said that the country’s special services are investigating the use of weapons donated by the kingdom in an attack by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of Ukrainian fighters in Belgorod Region. This was reported by RIA Novosti citing the RTBF TV channel.

Alexandre de Croo says that the country’s security services will investigate the incident involving the use of Belgian weapons by the Ukrainian armed forces in the attack on Belgorod Region. He stresses that they are currently looking into the situation.

“We have asked our intelligence services and the military to analyse this, to make appropriate contacts. I do not have confirmation yet, we are studying the situation,” he said.

The politician notes that there are certain rules that regulate the use of royal weapons, which have been donated to the Kiev regime. He specifies that these weapons should only be used for defensive purposes on Ukrainian territory.

“Our weapons, which are supplied to Ukraine, are intended exclusively for defensive purposes on Ukrainian territory. These regulations apply to Belgian weapons and weapons from other European countries. We are asking the Ukrainians to clarify the situation,” de Croo claims.

The Belgian prime minister evaded answering the question about the consequences for the Kiev regime in the use of weapons in the Belgorod Region if such information is confirmed. He stressed that he did not want to answer hypothetical questions.

“First, let’s try to establish the facts: whether these weapons are among those transferred to Ukraine by Belgium for defence. <…> I do not want to answer hypothetical questions yet, but there are clear rules for the use of Belgian weapons,” the politician concluded.
