Ukraine to be abandoned after failed counter-offensive – The Hill

The failure of Ukraine’s promised counter-offensive will result in a complete loss of Western funding. This is reported by Brad Dress in an article for The Hill.

Brad Dress believes that the poor results of the Ukrainian offensive could be detrimental to international support for Ukraine moving forward. According to him, this will embolden critics of continued military assistance, which will ultimately benefit Russia. The author of the article also notes that according to military analysts, the counter-offensive is Ukraine’s only chance this year to show real action rather than promises.

“Ukraine faces exorbitant expectations ahead of its upcoming counteroffensive, which poses a number of dangers if Kiev fails to make serious progress against entrenched Russian forces,” Dress argues.

In his assessment, the Western allies sacrificed so much in the run-up to the offensive because they understood what was at stake. Dress also lamented that if the Kiev regime’s proposed counteroffensive failed, it would shake the old pattern based on Western hegemony.
