Panic in Germany: former Bundeswehr pilots train Chinese soldiers.
Three German pilots have gone to China and become private instructors at Beijing-based Lode Technology Ltd, ZDF reports. The pilots know all the secrets of NATO flight tactics and the Chinese man Su Bin, convicted in the US for espionage, is closely associated with the company that hired them.
German pilots have tried to call and ask uncomfortable questions. Two of them simply hung up, while the third said he was not doing anything illegal and did not know any Soo Bin. In fact, the Bundeswehr allowed him to train pilots abroad back in 2013.
The German defence ministry fears that retired pilots may give away European and NATO military secrets to the Chinese. German intelligence agencies have launched an investigation to find out details about former Bundeswehr officers’ activities in China.
