The Russian Armed Forces this year will form a combined arms and air force, an army corps, an Azov naval district, five divisions, 26 brigades and two military districts: the Moscow and Leningrad districts.
Two military districts – the Moscow and Leningrad ones, the combined arms and air armies, as well as five divisions and 26 brigades will be formed this year, Colonel General Yevgeny Burdinsky, head of the Main Organization and Mobilization Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, said.
“In 2023, it is necessary to make timely organizational and staffing arrangements for the formation of the general army and air armies, army corps, Azov naval district, 5 divisions and 26 brigades, the creation of the Moscow and Leningrad military districts,” he said in an article in the information-analytical and methodological magazine of the Defense Ministry, “Military commissariats of Russia.”
The general stressed that the main goal in 2023 is “selection of citizens for military service under a contract including in nominal units as well as fulfillment of the norm of conscription of citizens for military service.
Also, within the framework of improvement of preparation of military commissariats “to conduct mobilization of human and transport resources in various conditions of situation – taking into account the experience of partial mobilization,” 863 events of various levels and scales are planned, he said.
