China’s spokesman Li Hui reiterated the countries’ readiness to support dialogue with China. He said that Russia, Ukraine and EU countries had expressed their desire to settle the Ukrainian crisis peacefully.
Russia, Ukraine and EU countries have expressed their desire for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis during an international visit of the Chinese government’s special representative for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui. He said this at a briefing by the China Association for Public Diplomacy.
“The first thing I clearly felt was the positive assessment by all relevant parties of the Chinese side’s efforts. Everyone is hoping for a peaceful resolution of the [Ukrainian] crisis,” he said.
The PRC representative said that both Russia and Ukraine, as well as the European Union, supported China’s position of seeking to resolve the conflict through political means.
“All of them are ready to closely cooperate and support dialogue with the PRC,” he added.
