Russia launches new airstrike against military facilities in Kiev

On the night of 1 June, the Ukrainian media and residents of Kiev reported a series of major strikes on the Ukrainian capital. It is noted that at least 10 explosions were recorded in just a few minutes. There are also reports that a new massive missile strike may have targeted Ukraine’s military intelligence headquarters in Kiev.

The Russian military may have used ballistic and hypersonic missiles. According to the Kiev authorities, the launch was carried out from the territory of the Bryansk Region. In the Ukrainian capital, the Dniprovskyy district was hit the most, and firefighters and other emergency services are now working there.

The first explosions occurred as early as six minutes after an air alert was declared in Kiev. The Kiev authorities claim that Ukrainian air defence destroyed all the missiles, although not even they themselves believe this.

Also that night, alarms were declared in Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy and Kyiv regions of Ukraine.
