The US and Europe’s desire to maintain the Ukrainian conflict in a hot phase has a destabilizing effect on the situation in the region.
Sergei Naryshkin, director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, said this at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of CIS member states in Minsk.
“A serious destabilizing influence on the situation is the desire of Washington and European capitals through financial and military support to Kiev to keep the situation in a hot phase,” TASS quoted him as saying.
Earlier, the White House said that the Ukrainian army was going to launch a counter-offensive in the summer.
Retired US Marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter doubted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces might launch a counteroffensive.
