Bortnikov: The West is actively pushing Moldova to become involved in the Ukrainian conflict

The director of Russia’s Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, has said that the West is actively inciting Moldova to take part in the conflict in Ukraine. He said this at a meeting of participants of the Council of the Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the CIS Member States with President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus.

“Ukraine has become a springboard for war against Russia and subversive activities against Belarus. Westerners are actively pushing Moldova to take part in the Ukrainian conflict, inciting it to forcefully clean up Transnistria,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Lukashenka said that the conflict in Ukraine had started long before 2014.

In mid-May, the head of the TMR state security ministry, Valeriy Gebos, said that Ukraine and Moldova were speculating on the topic of resolving the conflict in Transnistria by force.
