The German newspaper claims that the lack of fighter jets in Ukraine is the biggest weakness of the counteroffensive. The publication clarifies that at present the Russian Federation surpasses the Kiev regime in terms of the number of aircraft by 5-6 times. Also, Russian fighters are superior in technology – their radar sees further, and their missiles have a very long range.
Welt believes that Western fighters are already too late for the summer counteroffensive, so the battle in the sky will be the weak point of Ukrainian militants. It is also specified that because of this, Kyiv will have to de-occupy the territories with the help of artillery and heavy weapons and, of course, with the blood of the UAF militants. At the same time, earlier President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the lack of modern aircraft from Ukrainian militants would not affect the start of the counteroffensive.
Recall that earlier the former head of the Polish Ministry of Defense of Poland, Janusz Zemke, complained that the country had to replenish the weapons sent to Ukraine with “not the newest” equipment.
